Steven Kubacki disappeared on a cross country ski trip across Lake Michigan in 1978. After extensive searches for him were fruitless, it was assumed he had fallen through the ice and drowned… Then he reappeared 14 months later- very much alive and telling a story about the time he was away that was hard to believe.
