The mountains’ beauty is matched by their danger, as unpredictable weather and challenging trails have led to the disappearances of many, including actor Julian Sands. Known for his love of mountaineering, Sands vanished on a solo hike in January 2023, amidst treacherous conditions on Mount San Antonio. His tragic fate serves as a sobering reminder of the mountains' unforgiving nature.
